Cookies & Local Storage Notice

papertoad.com sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. Here is the complete inventory, including the one thing it loads from a third party.

Last updated: 9 September 2026Version 1.0

1. This site sets no cookies

papertoad.com sets no cookies of any kind — not first-party, not third-party, and not the "strictly necessary" ones that sites often use as a euphemism.

It also stores nothing in local storage or session storage, and it runs:

  • no analytics — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no anything;
  • no advertising, retargeting or conversion pixels;
  • no tag manager;
  • no social media plugins or embedded feeds;
  • no session recording, heatmaps or scroll tracking;
  • no device fingerprinting;
  • no consent management platform, because there is nothing to consent to.

That is why there is no cookie banner. Adding one here would be theatre.

2. What the site loads from elsewhere

Being straight about this matters, because a request to another company's server discloses your IP address to that company whether or not a cookie is involved.

Resource Provider What it means
Web fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com)Google Ireland Limited / Google LLCYour browser fetches font files directly from Google, so Google receives your IP address, your user agent, and the fact that you loaded this page. Google states it sets no cookies for the Fonts service and does not use these requests for advertising — see Google's Fonts privacy FAQ

There is nothing else. No hosted scripts, no CDN libraries, no embedded video, no chat widget, no map, no form handler, no comment system.

The legal pages you are reading make no external requests at all. They use fonts already on your device. Reading our policies does not send you anywhere.

If you would rather not load Google's fonts, any content blocker will stop them and the site falls back to your system fonts with no loss of function.

3. Server logs

Our web server records what every web server records in order to answer a request: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, response code, referrer and user agent. We use it to keep the site up and to investigate abuse. It is not used to build a profile, is not linked to anything else, and is deleted after a short operational window.

Section 3.1 of the Privacy Policy covers this in full.

The contact links on this site are ordinary mailto: links that open your own email program. Nothing is submitted to us until you send the message yourself. There is no form on this site, and no form handler.

5. Other PaperToad properties

This notice covers papertoad.com only.

  • calltorule.com, the Call to Rule website, stores one local-storage item — your language preference — and is covered by its own notice.
  • The Call to Rule game client is an application, not a web page. What it stores on your device is described in that same notice.

6. Your controls

  • Block third-party requests with any content blocker — the site remains fully functional.
  • Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control — there is nothing here for them to disable, but we honour a GPC signal as an opt-out under US state privacy laws. We do not sell or share personal information in the first place.

7. Changes

If we ever add something that reads or writes data on your device, or that shares data with a third party, we will update this page before it goes live and ask for consent where consent is required.
