1. Who runs this site

papertoad.com is operated by Papertoad FZE LLC ("PaperToad", "we", "us"), a company licensed by the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone Authority (SPC Free Zone) under trade licence 4431780, registered at Business Centre, Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

By using this website you accept these Terms of Use. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

These Terms cover this website only. The game Call to Rule has its own Terms of Service, and playing it is governed by those, not by these.

2. What this site is

papertoad.com is a corporate and marketing website. It describes who we are, what we make, and how to reach us. It is informational.

Nothing on it is an offer, a commitment, a warranty about a product, a prospectus, an invitation to invest, or professional advice of any kind. Descriptions of games and features under development describe our current intent and may change or be cancelled. Release dates, feature lists and roadmaps are forward-looking statements and are not promises.

3. Using the site

You may read, print and share pages of this site for your own personal or internal business use, and you may link to it.

You must not:

• Use the site unlawfully, or in a way that damages it or disrupts anyone else's use of it;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, our servers, or connected infrastructure;
• Scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, or use the content to train a machine-learning model, without our written permission;
• Introduce malware, or use the site to distribute it;
• Reproduce, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the site's content without our permission; or
• Remove or alter any copyright, trade mark or attribution notice.

Security research is welcome through the route in section 8, not through the site itself.

4. Intellectual property

The content of this site — text, artwork, logos, photography, video, design and code — is owned by Papertoad FZE LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. "PaperToad" and "Call to Rule", and their logos, are our trade marks.

Press and media may use material from this site to report on us, provided it is not altered in a way that changes its meaning and it is attributed to PaperToad. For a press kit or higher-resolution assets, write to hello@papertoad.com.

Fan creators making videos, guides and art about Call to Rule should read the standing permission in our Intellectual Property & Fan Content Policy, which is more generous than this section.

To report infringement, write to ip@papertoad.com with the detail listed in that policy.

5. Anything you send us

If you send us an idea, a design, a game concept, feedback or any other unsolicited material, please understand:

• We receive a lot of material and we work on projects that may resemble it. We cannot treat unsolicited submissions as confidential, and we do not accept any obligation to keep them secret, to pay for them, or to return them.
• By sending it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable licence to use it without restriction or compensation.
• You confirm that it is yours to send.

If you have something genuinely confidential to discuss, write first and ask — do not send the material. We will put an agreement in place before you send anything.

Job applications are a different case and are handled as described in section 3.3 of the Privacy Policy.

6. Links to other sites

This site links to third-party sites, including app stores and social platforms. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Read their terms.

7. Availability, disclaimers and liability

We try to keep the site available and accurate, but it is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components, or that the information on it is complete or current;
• We exclude all implied warranties and conditions; and
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data arising from your use of the site.

Nothing in this section excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.

8. Security reports

If you find a vulnerability in this site or our infrastructure, please report it to security@papertoad.com rather than testing its limits. Give us reasonable time to fix it and do not access, alter or exfiltrate anyone else's data. We will not pursue a researcher who follows that route in good faith, and we will credit you if you would like us to.

9. Changes

We may change these Terms and the content of the site at any time. The version published here at the time you use the site is the one that applies. The "Last updated" date at the top is always current.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the courts of the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country in which you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there where the law gives you that right.

These Terms are published in English and Arabic. If the versions differ, the English version governs.
